Please read this!! It effects everyone in the guild .. So 2nd time around… I have been thinking about a strict weekly Raid/Instance plan so that we can start to get some real progression and player development. I know that there are those of you that want to raid every day, some who want to raid only a few days, some who don’t want to raid at all and then some who only want to raid when they feel like it. The following post is my first attempt to try and start to shape the guild to TRY and please everyone.
First off – Monday and Tuesday is now going to be reserved for raiding Ulduar 10 man and Naxx 10 man. This is because these will be the most likely nights that Gritpipe will be available and I know he wants to do these. Priority will be given to Ulduar on the night that Gritpipe can make it. We will then farm Naxx depending on how late it is if we call Ulduar for any reason. Wednesday will essentially be a “do what you want night” if people want to raid we can raid, want heroics – fine, want to bum around and do fuck all – please yourself. Thursdays I want to make the night for doing the “easy” 10 man raids, namely OS, VoA and (ha-ha) EoE. I am hoping we can do at least two of these in a single night, if not all three before long. Friday I know is the night most people with a life want to pretend they aren’t hardcore Warcrafters’ and maybe socialise (dunno what that is) and this usually involves… WINE So another free night. Weekends I would like to try and help some of the other guildies level and gear up to join the rest of us. I also think Sunday is a good day to do Classic Raids. It would be nice to do some old world raids and get some achievements. Now this is an out line so far, all (except Monday and Tuesday) are subject to any input I receive. So please, give me some input, if you don’t have anything to say now, I don’t want to hear you complaining later. I know all this might sounds like good plan, but to do any of it we are going to need some committed and regular teammates, so we need to start to recruit some people and maybe get a little more serious, casual has been nice, but if we stay that way we will wither and the guild will die. So I would like those people who are expecting to raid to do some active recruitment as well. It’s not a lot to ask for 5-10 mins a couple of days a week to spam some recruitment chat. If at least 5 of us can do this, we should be steadily growing our ranks. Volunteers please! I have spoken to Wytchess about the possibility of creating a registration list on the guild website for those who want to attend raids, I don’t know what is possible but I would like a register for each Northrend raid so we know who to invite on what days as I know some might not want Naxx, but do want Ulduar. The people on the list will be given priority placements in the raid, and expected to turn up, and most important, ON TIME. Consideration is of course given to those who have to drop out due to real life situations and unless it is a consistent habit, it won’t be held against you. I have also created a rank for Raiders, these are the people who are the raid team, and they will receive guaranteed invites and if they accept (provided we are not too full) guaranteed a place. If there are people that have to leave they will be the first to be called upon. If we have more accept than 10, which I hope will become more frequent, I would like to stat doing two sets of 10 man in the same night (granted we may need to PUG a couple to do that) with a view to actually getting 25 people for some real raid action. All level 80’s of non raiding rank will receive invites but are not guaranteed a place; they are essentially the back-ups. I think this is the only way to make sure we get consistent raiding done. I also propose that raiders are under a 3-strikes and your out policy, if you fail to turn up 3 times in a row then you are demoted to non-raider and you are not guaranteed anything. Other punishments may also be appropriate to people who refuse to learn the tactics consistently and also don’t listen to instructions properly. I have also changed the guild bank, there are two tabs that people of the appropriate rank can access for withdrawals, and this is where items of a non-substantial value are to be placed. The other two tabs are for officer and above control, everyone can see what is in the tabs but only an appropriate officer/commander can withdraw, so you have to ask if you want anything that is there. This has had to be done to protect our assets after numerous ninja sessions. I would also like people to start donating green drops of any level into the bank, so that these can be disenchanted and used to provide materials for free guild enchants. This will be monitored so dropping 20 level 10 greens doesn’t get you a level 60 enchant, be realistic if you want to make use of this. Also unwanted purples from heroics and raids will be DE’d for the guild bank to facilitate the more expensive high level enchants. Any other materials required for an enchant, that are not in the bank, you may still need to purchase yourself. (But ask me first cos I horde stuff and usually have spares of loads of materials. Ok, I know a lot of this might look drastic, heavy, too serious, too extreme, etc etc. But we need to start to buck up our ideas and develop the guild more into something a bit slicker so that we can keep our valuable members and also attract more. We have already lost good players and are likely to lose a couple more yet but lets try to improve the situation and come through it in style. Everything I have written, I want to receive feedback on, I want ideas, suggestions and thoughts. If you don’t agree with something, tell me, if you think it needs tweaking, tell me! If you don’t have anything to say now, I don’t want to hear you complaining later. So speak now or forever serve under the rule of my {insert name of insanely powerful weapon equipped at the time}!! That is all..
